Pineapple Lion Snack

A yummy treat today!

More Table Games from Week 1

Here are some more activities we did last week for Zoo.  Zebra Stripe matching, Crocodile Dentist, Feed the Monekys, and a roll and cover game where we rolled a dice and fed the monkeys that many bananas until our card was full.

Zoo Unit Week 1 Table Games

Week one was filled with lots of fun activities such as hanging the Barrel Full of Monekys on a tree breanch, bulding homes for our animals by matching popsicle sticks and playdough, playing zoo animal lotto (and it is always nice to have an alligator puppet friend help out), matching animal pictures with their shadows, and sorting peacock feathers!

Cookies!

We had our first cooking project today.  It was a special treat...chocolate chip cookies!  We had been singing songs like "Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar" and reading stories such as, "Baker, Baker, Cookie Maker, Who Stole the Cookies, and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie".  We try to give a healthier spin to our cooking projects, but once in a while a treat is due!

What a day!

It has been a busy first full week in preschool.  We spent a lot of time playing games and singing songs to learn each other's names.  The three most popular activities during table time were making foam in the water table (re-purposed foam soap dispensers), scooping up pom-poms with special scoop tweezers, and being a scientist with zig-zaggy eye droppers.

Snow in September!

Our Olaf bulletin board is complete!  Each child decorated a snowball by gluing on white junk. Then we added snowflake glitter - their favorite part!  Now Olaf is nice and cool.

First Day!

Wow!  We had a magnificent first day!  There were some tears, nervousness, and a few kiddos that wanted to stay close to an adult, but overall, your kids did a wonderful job!

A special surprise today was MAGIC PLAYDOUGH.  Each child was given a ball of white playdough.  If it changed colors when we squished it and played with it, then we are going to have a great year in preschool.  Guess what?  It changed colors!

They each brought their playdough home to keep.  Enjoy!
